I make this dish for special occasions, and always during the Holidays. This is by far, the BEST Scalloped Potato recipe I've tried (and I've tried many)! Beginning the cooking process on the stove really speeds things and makes a softer potato! Dense, creamy, delicious!

This was a great addition to our Easter dinner. I doubled it (was serving 17 adults) and there was enough for all. The only change made to the recipe as written was to substitute 1 1/2 cups 1% milk and 1 1/2 cups whipping cream for the 3 cups of whipping cream.

This was way too rich for us. If I make it again I will use half and half or whole milk

I made this recipe, exactly as called for, for Easter dinner, along with ham & asparagus in the menu "Easter Dinner in the Dining Room". It was wonderful - many compliments - easy to make and cooked very quickly. I will definitely make this recipe again. The parmesan cheese on the top added a delightful cheesy taste that most recipes don't have.

Fabulous! Used 2 cups of heavy whipping cream and 1 cup of half-and-half. Delightfully sinful!!!

I love this recipe. I almost always have most of these ingredients on hand so it is easy to throw this dish together in a pinch. I usually leave out the parsley as I hardly ever have any on hand and it is not missed.

This was, without a doubt, the most delicious scalloped potatoes I have ever had!!!! My fiance and I cooked them for a side dish tonight and we went back for seconds. We used heavy whipping cream as opposed to standard whipping cream. Our parents asked for the recipe so they could make it for a potluck they are attending next week. Will definitely be cooking this again! LOVE IT!

Very good and very flavorful! I substituted one cup whipping cream with lowfat half & half & couldn't tell a difference. I also added about an 1/8 of a cup thinly sliced sweet onion. Very good!!!! Will make again & was a hit with our friends!

Fantastic!!!! My boyfriend who is all about flavor, flavor, flavor, and let me tell you he loved this! I will make it all the time now. By first cooking it on stovetop really helped not to take as long in the oven.

Absolutely the best scalloped potatoes recipe ever!! My wife and I are very picky about potatoes and this one tops them all!

Incredibly simple, remarkably tasty and guaranteed to become a standard in our home. I did use a pan that went from stovetop to oven rather than transfering to a second dish and it worked beautifully. Served alongside a baked ham (yummy!) but bet it will go with just about everything!

This recipe is amazing, whole family loved it! I also substituted skim milk for part of the cream, 1 cup cream and 1.5 cups skim milk, it was still very creamy. A keeper.

My husband and I both wish we could eat these everyday! :) My husband is a bit of a 'purist' when it comes to his potatoes, so I did opt to leave the parsley out, though I think I would have liked it. They were still heavenly without. I liked the idea of cooking them on the stove so you know they are cooked through and then browning them in the oven. Paired extremely well with ham over the holiday season. Easy to prepare, creamy and cheesy....absolutely delicious!!

Made this for Christmas dinner. It was very good, and I will definitely make this again. Very quick, easy, and delicious. I followed the recipe exactly, but mine was a little dry. I think I will add a about a half cup milk to the mixture when simmering.

This potato dish is fantastic!! Other than peeling the potatoes, it didn't require too much prep. To cut calories, I used 1 cup of cream and 1-1/2 cups of skim milk. Also, instead of butter I used I Can't Believe It's Not Butter ~ didn't notice the missing fat & calories in the final dish!! I would add a little more salt and pepper - just my taste. We served it with bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin and greenbeans. Good dish for any occasion!! Will be making this again and again!

This is an excellent recipe. I would do nothing different next time. I made it ahead and the put the dish in the oven later in the day to cook for dinner. Very good!!!
