Why is my movies and TV app not working in Windows 10? ›

Verify that your computer's time, date, language, and region settings are correct: Press the Windows key + I to open Settings. Tap or click Time & language. Select either Date & time or Region & language and check all settings.

Microsoft Movies & TV brings you the latest HD movies and TV shows on your Windows 10 device. Rent and buy new blockbuster movies and favorite classics, or catch up on last night's TV episodes. Movies & TV also brings you instant-on HD and fast access to your video collection.

Only movies that are purchased or redeemed through your connected Digital Retailer account will appear in Movies Anywhere. If you have questions about a particular Digital Retailer's sharing or library program, please contact the Digital Retailer directly.

Starting with this build, Microsoft is pulling the Movies & TV app out of the OS as a pre-loaded app. This means when you setup a new PC in 2024 with Windows 11, the Movies & TV app will no longer be included.

The Movies & TV app is available for free on the Microsoft Store. To download the app, press the Tab key until you hear "Search," then enter Movies & TV into the Search field, and press Enter.

Your library is stored in the Microsoft Cloud and is synced across your Microsoft devices* through your Microsoft account, so your collection follows you from screen to screen. Start a movie on your Windows PC while riding the bus, and finish watching it on your TV at home using your Xbox.

When you see Movies & TV you can right-click and click on Uninstall or click on the arrow to see the list of options. Click on Start> Settings > Apps, and you'll be at the Apps & Features settings. Scroll down, find and click on Movies & TV. The Uninstall button should appear.

Once you are inside your Movies Anywhere account, click on your name on the top right corner to access your account settings and select "Manage Retailers". Click on "CONNECT" Microsoft and follow the instructions to connect your accounts.

Download to your Windows laptop, tablet, or phone, and enjoy it on the road, even without Internet. All of your purchased movies and TV shows are stored online and synced across the devices you use with your Microsoft account, so your programs follow you from screen to screen.
